Sekon Sta burst on the main stream soca scene in 2013 with his single Stick It. In 2014, the former Synergy TV Soca Star participant released the fairly popular Wine on the Truck. It wasn’t until 2015, however, that the son of former Veteran Calypsonian, Merchant, had his big break with the track The Best on the popular Kan Kan Riddim. The track, penned by Sta himself, was one of the most played songs for the 2015 Trinidad Carnival season. Sekon Sta is known throughout the soca world for penning tracks for the many popular artistes.
