Mashramani or Mash is Guyana’s most colourful festival is usually observed on February 23 in observance of Guyana’s becoming a republic on Februrary 23, 1970.

The word "Mashramani" is derived from an Amerindian language and in translation means "the celebration of a job well done."

Mash is usually celebrated each year under a different theme. Usually Mash commences with the chutney, soca and the Calypso (junior and senior) competitions, followed by the children’s Mash activities, masquerade and steel band, media jump up, concert for the elderly, and the bright up Guyana competition, among others.

The Trinidad and Tobago Carnival is held on the Monday and Tuesday before Ash Wednesday annually. Trinidad and Tobago's Carnival, known for its colorful costumes and exuberant celebrations, is the inspiration for most of the carnivals in the Caribbean Diaspora including Toronto's Caribana, Miami's Miami Carnival, Houston Carifest, London's Notting Hill Carnival as well as New York City's Labor Day Carnival. In terms of size and importance the Trinidad and Tobago Carnival is surpassed only by the Brazilian Carnival. Celebratory events start in December and continue beyond the main carnival days listed below. Long associated with calypso music, Trinidad's Carnival is now primarily associated with Soca music.

The 7th of February 2015 carnival kicks off with the child parade in Rincon. After this on Sunday the 8th, the children's Parade in Kralendijk. The Adults Parade will be on February 14 in Rincon. After this on February 15 is the adults parade will take place in the Kaya Grandi, downtown Kralendijk. Carnival comes to an end on February 17 with the Old Mask and burning of King Momo  in Kralendijk.

Panama has celebrated Carnival annually on the four days leading up to Ash Wednesday since the early 1900s.

The town of Las Tablas is the best place to experience Carnival. Festivities in the town include an exhibition of  floats and costumes, fireworks, live concerts, games, and large trucks that spray clean water on participants to keep them cool.

Via Espana in Panama City is another great location to experience the Carnival since the Carnival queen is selected there and she is featured in a parade. The events involve a lot of food and dancing, with the streets filled with joyous people.

Montserrat's Festival runs from mid-December until New Year's Day, and is a time when hundreds of Montserratians living overseas return to the island to reunite with families and friends and enjoy the festivities. Montserrat's Festival has many similarities with the carnivals held in other islands, and highlights the island's wealth of culture and talent.

There are calypso competitions, the Festival Queen competition, beauty and talent shows, and the parade of costumed troupes on New Year's Day, as well as Masqueraders dancing in the streets. As night falls, excitement builds up at street 'jump ups' informal dancing in the street, with exuberant crowds following a truck playing loud music.

The Fi Wi Sinting Festival a day long family event celebrating the history and culture of Africa in Jamaica with 3 components.

The first is performing arts where patrons can watch the stage show as well as interact with performers.  Kumina, Jonkonoo and Nyabhingi drumming takes place in different areas throughout the event. 

The second component to the event is an African marketplace where patrons can purchase handmade arts and craft items, books, African inspired art, clothing and more.  The marketplace is open throughout the festival activities.

The third component gives patrons the opportunity to try a variety of traditional Jamaican food and drink.  In this area visitors can find ital juices, snacks and food catering to the needs of all vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian.

The next Fi Wi Wi Sinting will be held on Sunday, 15th February 2015 celebrating 25 years of cultural preservation in Jamaica.

Crop Over began in 1688,  originally a celebration signaling the end of the yearly sugar cane harvest, it featured singing, dancing and accompaniment by bottles filled with water, shak-shak, banjo, triangle, fiddle, guitar, and bones. It has since evolved into Barbados' biggest national festival similar to Carnival in Brazil and Trinidad. During World War II the festival was disbanded. It was revived in 1974 and closely mirrors the Trinidad Carnival. Crop Over begin in June and runs until the first Monday in August culminating The Grand Kadooment.

Major events run from July 21 to August 3.

Faced with the loss of the annual reggae festival Reggae Sunsplash, a group of business persons in Montego Bay came together to form Summerfest Productions Limited.  The company was formed in 1993 and staged the first annual Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay. 

The festival kicks off with its signature beach party on Sunday, July 21, before going into its three-day show; with Dancehall on Thursday, July 25, International Night 1 on Friday July 26, and International Night 2 on Saturday, July 27, at Catherine Hall, Montego Bay. Confirmed artistes include Miguel, Damian 'Jr Gong' Marley, Beres Hammond, Aidonia, Romain Virgo, Chronixx, Tarrus Riley, RDX and Macka Diamond.

Dubbed 'The Greatest Reggae Show on Earth', the festival is expected to attract thousands of patrons from Jamaica and the rest of the world.

Reggae Sumfest 2013 will mark the 21st annual staging of the event.
