The Calabar Carnival festival in Nigeria, referred to as " Africa's Biggest Street Party," was created 2004 as part of a vision of making Cross River State in Nigeria the hub for tourism and hospitality in Nigeria and in Africa. The carnival runs from November 30 to January 1, annually. The Carnival Road March is held annually on the 27th. of December in the ancient City of Calabar.
According to the promoters, over 31% percent of slaves to the new world were transported through and spiritual links with the Caribbean, including Trinidad & Tobago, and Jamaica.
