Rita Marley honored by Ghana

Today, the Ghanaian government will honor Bob Marley's widow, Rita Marley, who born Alpharita Anderson in Santiago, Cuba, and raised in Trench Town, Jamaica and is now living in Ghana with honorary Ghanaian citizenship and a Ghanaian passport.

The Marley family has lived in Ghana for almost 20 years. Rita Marley has been enstooled in Ghana as Nana Afua Abodea I and is more commonly known as Nana Rita Marley.

Trough the Rita Marley Foundation and the Bob Marley Foundation, Rita Marley has been involved in numerous charity projects across Africa and in Jamaica, as well as operating a recording studio in Ghana and helping to organise the Africa Unite concerts.
