Kenya's Dennis Kimetto broke the marathon world record at the 41st Berlin Marathon in Berlin, Germany, Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014. Kimetto set a new world record of two hours, two minutes and 57 seconds.
Thirty-year-old Kimetto broke the record of 2:03:23 set by fellow Kenyan Wilson Kipsang in Berlin last year by 26 seconds. He becomes the first man to run the marathon in under two hours, three minutes.
Another Kenyan, Emmanuel Mutai, also broke the old record coming in second at 2:03:13.
