Anguillan teenager Zharnel Hughes has drawn comparisons to Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt after he won the 100m at the Jamaican Inter-Secondary Schools Boys and Girls Athletics Championships held from March 25-29th.
The lanky 18-year-old ran the 100m in 10.12 seconds to beat the Jamaican schools 100m record set by Jamaican sprinter Yohan Blake of 10.21 seconds.
Zharnel Hughes who was born and raised on the Caribbean island of Anguilla now studies in Jamaica and trains with Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake under coach Glen Mills.
Because Anguilla is a "British Territory," Hughes is eligible to represent Great Britain at the Rio Olympic Games in 2016.
