Usain Bolt will retire after 2017 London Worlds Championships

Usain Bolt will retire from athletics after the 2017 World Championships in London.

Bolt had set the Rio Games in 2016 as his last major championship but he told the Daily Mail that his sponsor asked him to participate in the 2017 World Championships in London.

The 28-year-old Jamaican six-time Olympic gold medalist also said he will only participate in the 100m in 2017, so he could concentrate on that, and retire on a winning note.

This year, Bolt's major focus is on the World Championships in Beijing in August where he hopes to add to his eight world gold medals.
