Jamaican Taekwondo Olympian Tests Positive

Jamaican Taekwondo Olympian Kenneth Edwards, who competed at the London Olympics, has tested positive for a banned substance.

In a statement today, Edwards, who has not competed since July, said he was notified of the results a month ago and he is awaiting results of a backup sample.

Edwards says he he will challenge the findings because there was no practical reason for him to have used a diuretic for any kind.

His announcement came as the world's anti-doping authority launched an audit of Jamaica's drug-testing agency because of allegations of inconsistent testing.

Edwards joins other Jamaican athletes, including Veronica Campbell-Brown, Asafa Powell and Sherone Simpson , who are also facing doping investigations.
